The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores Ltd (Park St., Dundalk) introduce a shared 39-hour week on a rota to be agreed. The recommendation was signed on 13 February 1990. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union and management had not agreed how to arrange the reduced hours. The Court said the change should have been discussed and agreed locally before implementation, and recommended a mix of late starts, midday adjustments and early finishes. The company did not attend the investigation.
