The Labour Court recommended that St. Joseph's Childrens Growth And Development Centre and the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union ask the Minister for Health to request an extension of the Local Authorities Superannuation Scheme to the centre’s workers. The recommendation was signed on 8 February 1990. The Court said the workers were entitled to pension scheme benefits and considered the proposed public service scheme a reasonable response if it could be applied without delay. It recommended local discussions about any additional arrangements once individual benefits were established.
