The Labour Court recommended early talks between Bank Of Ireland Finance and the Irish Bank Officials' Association to reach mutually acceptable pay arrangements under the Programme for National Recovery. The recommendation was signed on 7 February 1990. The association had sought a 5% increase in the 28th wage round, arguing that other staff had received more favourable settlements. The Court said it saw some merit in staff’s view that the settlements were inequitable, but did not concede the association’s claim.
