The Labour Court recommended against the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union’s claim for lost earnings on behalf of an Irish Rail depot worker. The recommendation was signed on 17 January 1990. The claim concerned three weeks without pay after the worker did not report for rostered signal-cabin training and later placed an unofficial picket at Killarney station. Irish Rail said he had refused instructions and should have used grievance procedures. The Court considered the claim unsustainable.
