The Labour Court rejected the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union’s claim to reinstate a worker dismissed by Emerald City Productions Limited. The recommendation was signed on 4 December 1989. The union said the dismissal was unfair and alleged that the worker had been victimised because of his union membership. The company cited lateness, poor work and conduct after re-engagement, and denied victimising him. The Court found no grounds to recommend reinstatement after examining the evidence submitted by both sides.
