The Labour Court recommended that Tara Mines pay three workers £2,000 each in full and final settlement of a dispute over compensation after they lost weekend working. The recommendation was signed on 7 November 1989. The dispute concerned implementation of an earlier recommendation that compensation was due for regular rostering, at less than an ordinary shift premium. Tara Mines had offered £3,000 in total, while Manufacturing Science And Finance sought more than £13,000, based on a claimed £26,000 loss over two years.
