The Labour Court did not concede the Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union’s claim for recognition at Ovelle Limited. The recommendation was signed on 9 November 1989. The union sought negotiating rights for a small group of workers. The Court found that the Irish Distributive and Administrative Trade Union already had sole recognition under a written agreement, and said recognising a second union would not support good industrial relations.
