The Labour Court did not recommend conceding Irish Transport and General Workers' Union; Dublin No. 17 Branch's claim for a worker's re-employment by Aer Lingus. It heard the matter on 28 September 1989 and signed its recommendation on 13 October 1989. The union said the worker's resignation followed personal and domestic problems and asked the Court to recommend re-employment. Aer Lingus said the resignation was voluntary, the worker had received an ex gratia payment and there was no suitable role available. The Court considered that the company had not acted unreasonably.
