In 1989, the Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores pay qualifying part-time staff at its Bray grocery store for morning tea breaks and give them one week’s notice of their working hours. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union had also sought an agreed mix of trolley and floor duties for male part-time staff. The Court recommended that store management discuss and agree that mix with the staff concerned. The recommendation was signed on 23 August 1989.
