In 1989, the Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union's claims against Wavin Pipes Limited for an incentive bonus and changes to temporary workers' pay. The Court said circumstances did not warrant a bonus. It said a lower rate could apply to temporary workers doing work confined to assembly and packaging, but export-order rates required the union's specific agreement in each case. The recommendation was signed on 13 February 1989.
