The Labour Court recommended compensation of £90 per person to workers at Anglo Irish Beef Processors (Shannon Meats Limited) after the company ended a Christmas bonus and cut service pay by 50%. The Irish Transport And General Workers' Union accepted the changes but pursued compensation for the resulting loss. The company argued the former benefits were out of line with its group and the wider industry, and said weekly earnings had increased overall. The recommendation was signed on 7 February 1989.
