The Labour Court recommended acceptance of proposals on pay for laboratory staff and weekend payments for bulk milk drivers at Town Of Monaghan Co-Operative and Dairy Society Limited. The claim was brought by the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union. The recommendation was signed on 11 November 1988. The proposals included a weekly laboratory rate of £155.03, subject to an 8.30am start, and a £100 increase to the drivers' annual net bonus, bringing it to £650. The Court also recommended continuous monitoring of drivers' weekend hours over 12 months, as proposed by the society.
