In 1988, the Labour Court recommended an additional £1,000 payment in a dispute over redundancy terms for five craftsmen at C.B. Packaging Limited. The recommendation was signed on 15 April 1988. The recommendation cited clause 8.3 of the company and union agreement and provided for the payment on its acceptance. The parties were the Amalgamated Engineering Union and the Electrical Trades Union as well as the company.
