Labour Court recommends sick pay claim for 150 college staff be conceded

In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that the Department Of Education concede Tass (M.S.F.)’s sick pay claim for 150 technicians and craft assistants in Regional Technical Colleges. The recommendation was signed on 15 February 1988. The union sought sick leave terms similar to those in City of Dublin Vocational Educational Committee colleges. The Court referred to its 1979 recommendation on parity and said the claim should be implemented under clause 3.2 of the current public-service pay agreement.
