The Labour Court recommended that the Local Government And Public Services Union accept the Irish Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Children's pay package, with changes for 47 workers. The recommendation was signed on 11 February 1988. The revised package included increases of 3% from 1 January 1988, 3.50% from 1 January 1989 and 6% from 1 January 1990. It also raised the proposed annual increase for 11 lower-paid staff from £1,000 to £1,100 and provided for a review of progress towards pay parity with Health Board staff in January 1989, taking the Society's finances into account.
