The Labour Court recommended that Lever Brothers (Ireland) Limited reinstate the employee in his former Tallaght job if he wished, or offer him £1,000 to accept his transfer to North Wall. The recommendation was signed on 28 January 1988. The Court said the compulsory transfer was contrary to the spirit and intent of existing agreements and understandings. It did not recommend conceding the Marine Port And General Workers' Union's claim to retain the Personal Product Advertising Store in Tallaght.
