The Labour Court deferred deciding compensation claims by five workers at Irish Distillers' Limited, saying it would examine losses actually incurred one year after the job changes. The recommendation was signed on 11 January 1988. The Irish Transport And General Workers' Union sought compensation for one driver moved from articulated-lorry to delivery driving and four moved from driving to indoor work. On a separate claim, the Court decided that the drivers surrendered their rights to return to driving by choosing alternative jobs in a redundancy situation, and recommended accordingly.
