Labour Court recommends review of union recognition at Alpaco Foil

The Labour Court recommended reviewing in August 1988 whether Alpaco Foil Limited would recognise the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union) for negotiations on pay and conditions. The recommendation was signed on 11 January 1988. Alpaco said a staff association and factory committee were the sole negotiating body under an existing agreement. The Court recommended that, in the meantime, union members be represented by their union under grievance and disciplinary procedures.
