Labour Court recommends £132.92 basic rate at King Foods and Eurosnax

The Labour Court recommended raising the basic rate at King Foods and Eurosnax to £132.92 from 1 October 1987. The recommendation, signed on 30 October 1987, followed a claim by the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union on behalf of about 40 workers at Tayto Limited to equalise rates with Tayto. The Court did not recommend conceding the wider claim for uniform rates and conditions, saying those could be achieved only through coordinated negotiations involving all concerned parties.
