In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding four groups of claims brought by the Irish Distributive and Administrative Trade Union against Boyer & Company Limited. The recommendation was signed on 29 October 1987. The claims concerned part-time hours and breaks in service; holiday workers’ pay; days off and staff discounts for part-time staff; and a merit bonus for canteen workers. The Court said formalised terms on the first and third claims would serve no useful purpose given existing employment policies. It also declined the claims for holiday workers and canteen staff.
