The Labour Court did not recommend compensation for a Dublin Corporation waterworks worker who did not meet the eligibility conditions applied in an earlier privilege-days case. The recommendation was signed on 7 October 1987. The Irish Municipal Employees' Trade Union argued that the worker fell short of the earlier conditions by only a few months and sought compensation for lost Christmas and Easter privilege days. Dublin Corporation said the worker had not completed five years' service in the waterworks section. The Court found that the worker did not qualify.
