In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union (No. 15 Branch)'s claim against Securicor Ireland Limited over reduced overtime for mobile patrolmen. The recommendation was signed on 10 October 1987. Securicor proposed replacing overtime cover for colleagues on annual leave with relief staff paid at a flat rate. The union sought to keep the existing arrangement or compensation for the lost earnings. The Court had regard to its earlier recommendation on reducing unnecessary overtime.
