The Labour Court recommended a three-month pay pause followed by a 3% wage increase for workers at Limerick Laundry & Dry Cleaning Services Limited. Its recommendation on the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union's claim for 22 workers was signed on 14 August 1987. The union initially sought an 8% increase over 12 months, while the company said it could not offer a rise and sought an ongoing pay pause. The Court recommended a pause from 1 January to 31 March 1987, the 3% increase from 1 April, and payment of 1987 increments from their due dates. It also recommended an early meeting on measures to increase turnover and productivity.
