The Labour Court did not recommend conceding either of the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union's claims against Orrwear Limited. Its recommendation, signed on 13 August 1987, covered payment for earnings lost during a lay-off and increased pay for one operative. One claim concerned four trainees who lost five hours' pay during a lay-off. The other sought a higher payment for an operative after the company reorganised line-loading duties. Orrwear said there was no agreement or established practice of paying staff during lay-off, and that the operative's duties had been discussed and agreed with her.
Labour Court does not recommend conceding either Orrwear pay claim
