Labour Court rejects Local Government and Public Services Union regrading claim

In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Local Government and Public Services Union's claim against the North Western Health Board to regrade 10 domestic supervisory staff to grade 4. The recommendation was signed on 9 July 1987. The union argued that the supervisors' responsibilities had grown and their pay did not reflect their duties. The Board said their jobs had not changed enough to justify regrading and that a change would undermine the existing rationalisation agreement. The Court found that the duties and responsibilities described did not warrant grade 4 and did not recommend conceding the claim.
