In 1987, the Labour Court recommended a five-month pay pause from 1 March, followed by a 4% increase for 10 months from 1 August, for about 65 workers at CONCRETE PRODUCTS OF IRELAND LIMITED. The recommendation was signed on 25 June 1987. The IRISH TRANSPORT AND GENERAL WORKERS' UNION had sought a 10% rise, better bonus terms and a higher timekeeping allowance. The Court recommended further discussions on a review of the Besser line bonus and did not recommend conceding the union’s timekeeping allowance claim.
