The Labour Court recommended a 6% pay increase over 13 months for workers at Nilands Limited and an increase in the meal allowance to £6.50. It did not recommend changing the Dublin-run allowance. The recommendation was signed on 8 June 1987. The Irish Transport and General Workers' Union sought improved pay and conditions for 80 workers. Nilands Limited said its wage offer matched settlements in the wholesale trade, its Galway workers received incentive bonuses, and the Dublin-run allowance was sufficient. The Court recommended workers accept the amended wage offer and did not recommend a change to the Dublin-run allowance.
