Labour Court recommends 4% pay rise and pension scheme at Alfa Cavan

The Labour Court recommended a 4% pay increase over 15 months and a contributory 40/80ths pension scheme with full back service for workers at Alfa Cavan Limited. Employee contributions should not exceed 5%. The recommendation was signed on 22 May 1987. The Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union had sought a 5% increase over 12 months and a 40/60ths pension scheme. The Court also recommended treating permanent health insurance as a separate matter and accepting the company’s proposal on flexible breaks.
