The Labour Court found Corlin Developments Limited was covered by the Registered Employment Agreement for the Construction Industry in a decision signed on 11 May 2009. It also found that the Two Workers were general operatives entitled to the agreement’s rates of pay and employment conditions. The workers said they had been underpaid and excluded from pension and sick-pay schemes. Corlin argued that its fire-protection and consultancy business was outside the agreement. The Court found that the company’s work involved altering or repairing buildings, bringing it within the agreement.
