In an opinion dated 2 October 2006, the Labour Court considered a dispute between Wright Window Systems and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union about whether the company’s grievance procedure covered collective representation. The Court found that the procedure generally complied with the Code of Practice and that a union official could represent an identified employee through the grievance process. It did not find that the Code required the company to meet the union about grievances raised without identifying individual employees.
