The Labour Court clarified that Clause 11 of the Construction Industry Wages and Conditions of Employment Registered Employment Agreement applies to all trade disputes, whatever the issue. Its decision was signed on 9 June 2003. The Construction Industry Federation had sought an interpretation of the clause. The Irish Congress Of Trade Unions had argued that the procedure covered only disputes about wage rates or employment conditions in the agreement. The Court recommended that the parties complete their discussions as soon as possible to avoid further industrial relations problems.
