The Labour Court dismissed John Collins’s appeal and confirmed that his penalisation complaint against Robert Ramsey Trading As Industrial Roofing & Cladding was not well founded. The determination was dated 30 March 2009. Collins said he was dismissed after pursuing a personal injuries claim following an accident at work. The employer said a change in how it was paid for work made it financially unviable to retain him. The Court found that penalisation under section 27 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 had not taken place.
