Labour Court upholds out-of-time ruling against Christina Humphreys

The Labour Court upheld the decision that Christina Humphreys’s complaint against Muiriosa Foundation was out of time, and her appeal failed. The merits were not decided. In its determination dated 24 March 2022, the Court found that Humphreys had not shown reasonable cause for filing late. She said stress and concern about passing probation at her new employer had delayed the complaint. The Court noted she had lodged a similar complaint against that employer within the time limit without suffering detriment. The complaint was under the Maternity Protection Act 1994.
