The Labour Court allowed Mater Misericordiae University Hospital’s appeal and set aside the €6,000 award and contract of indefinite duration previously granted to Dr Brian Murray. Its determination was signed on 10 October 2017.
The case concerned Murray’s complaint under the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act 2003. His solicitors told the Court he would not contest the appeal, and he did not attend the hearing. The Court set aside the Adjudication Officer’s decision after finding that no evidence had been offered in support of the complaint.
