The Labour Court affirmed the earlier decision against Jim Redmond and found no breach of the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act, 2003. The determination was dated 13 May 2016. Redmond argued that court attendances after his three-year Traffic / Litter Warden contract ended in June 2014 amounted to further fixed-term employment. Wexford County Council said he attended as a witness to give evidence about traffic fines he issued while employed and received expenses and a fee. The Court found that, even if the attendances were renewals of a fixed-term contract, objective grounds justified them. The appeal failed.
