The Labour Court directed the Health Service Executive to recognise Stephen Coyne's entitlement to a contract of indefinite duration and to pay compensation in line with an earlier Rights Commissioner decision. The Court signed its determination on 19 April 2016.
Coyne complained that the HSE had not implemented the earlier decision, which had not been appealed within the time limit. The Court determined that he became entitled by law to contracts of indefinite duration from 2 May 2010 and 13 October 2010 for his first and second contracts, respectively.
