The Labour Court awarded Masud Awan €56,969.75 in compensation after University College Hospital’s appeal left the amount due under an earlier determination unresolved. The determination was signed on 31 August 2011.
The Court had issued its earlier determination, FTD072, in February 2007, leaving compensation to be decided later. University College Hospital had stated in correspondence that €56,969.75 was the maximum amount Mr Awan could justifiably claim. The Court found that sum met the terms of the earlier determination and awarded it under the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act, 2003.
