The Labour Court upheld a €5,000 compensation award to Richard O’ Regan after South Tipperary County Council’s appeal. The determination was dated 2 October 2006.
The appeal concerned only the amount of compensation for the Council’s breach of the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act 2003. The Court considered the case history, guidance on compensation where there was no financial loss, and mitigating or aggravating factors, including the respondent’s conduct in defending the case.
