The Labour Court dismissed a worker's claim that M/A Com Eurotec fired her because she complained about sexual harassment. In an Order dated 23 February 1999, the Court found she had not proved that her complaint was the sole or main reason for her dismissal. The worker said a colleague made vulgar and suggestive remarks and that she was dismissed after complaining to her supervisor. The company said it dismissed her over work performance, attitude and her fit with its organisation. The Court also said the manner of dismissal fell short of the standards expected of a reasonable employer, but that could not determine her claim under the Employment Equality Act.
