In 1993, the Labour Court found that four workers were discriminated against in their dismissals by Crainn Chorca Dhuibhne Teoranta (In Receivership). It directed the company to pay £150 to each worker and £150 to the estate of a worker who died after making a complaint and before the hearing. The workers had been employed as seeders and were dismissed after six hours. They said they were told that women had smaller hands and could work faster. The company did not attend or have representation at the hearing. The Labour Court investigated the complaint in Killarney. Its order was dated 29 March 1993.
