The Labour Court rejected Alan Bermingham’s appeal against Alexion Pharma International Trading, affirming the decision that his age discrimination complaint was not well founded. The Court’s determination was dated 5 March 2018.
Bermingham alleged he was denied an interview for an Artwork Specialist role because of his age. Alexion said it did not know his age during recruitment and that his pharmaceutical experience was insufficient; two other candidates had more relevant sector experience. The Court found Bermingham had not established facts from which age discrimination could be inferred.
