The Labour Court disallowed John Healy's appeal against the Equality Tribunal's decision on his claims against Irish Life Assurance PLC. The determination was dated 12 August 2015. The Court found the claim was brought outside the time limit; the merits were not decided. Healy alleged discrimination on disability, age and marital status grounds after Irish Life stopped his income protection payments and instructed him to return to work. Irish Life denied the allegations. The Labour Court found the claim fell outside the six-month limit and beyond the maximum 12-month extension. It affirmed the Tribunal decision. It also said the 4 May 2011 settlement barred the claims, but did not need to determine that issue after its time-limit finding.
