The Labour Court dismissed Nijole Kvostiene’s appeal and affirmed the Equality Tribunal’s decision on 13 January 2011. Kvostiene said Europa Plus Limited required her to pay €1,000 for training and related services she did not receive, gave her no employment contract or safety materials in her language, and dismissed her because of her nationality. Europa Plus disputed that it was her employer and denied treating her differently. The Court found it was her employer because it was liable for her wages. It found the evidence did not establish that she was treated as she was because she was Lithuanian, and affirmed the Equality Tribunal’s decision.
