The Labour Court rejected Jevgenijs Soldatjonoks’s appeal against a finding that he had not established race discrimination by Securazone Manhour Limited (in Liquidation). The determination was dated 27 January 2011. A separate appeal by Tautvydas Puskorius was struck out for want of prosecution after he did not attend; the merits were not decided. Soldatjonoks alleged discrimination in his employment conditions and dismissal, including over his English-language contract, shifts, premium payments and dismissal procedures. The company, which was in liquidation, did not appear at the hearing. The Court found he had supplied no evidence that Irish and non-Irish workers were treated differently and affirmed the Equality Officer’s decision.
