The Labour Court dismissed Rosa Maria Rosello Vila’s appeal over age discrimination and harassment complaints against Lionbridge Technologies (Ireland) Ltd, affirming the Equality Officer’s decision. The determination was signed on 25 May 2009.

Rosello Vila said her employment was ended because of her age and that she faced age-based harassment during her brief time as a temporary software test engineer. Lionbridge denied both claims, saying English was necessary for the role and that it had concerns about her performance.

The Court found she had not established facts from which age discrimination could be inferred. It also found no evidence to support the harassment allegation, so neither complaint succeeded.
