The Labour Court removed an order requiring a distribution company to provide staff equality training, but left in place the €4,000 compensation awarded to a worker for disability discrimination. The determination was signed on 15 November 2004.
The company appealed the training requirement, saying existing arrangements already informed staff about equality rights and that the training would cost €153,600. The Court found the arrangements adequate and the training requirement an unnecessary and disproportionate burden. The worker did not contest the appeal or take part in the hearing.
