In 1999, the Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s finding that a worker employed as a merchandiser by Tayto Limited was entitled to holiday pay. The Court dated its decision 24 September 1999. The worker said she worked at least 12 hours a week and received no holiday or bank holiday pay. Tayto estimated that she worked no more than seven to 7½ hours a week and argued that the Act did not cover her. The worker appealed after Tayto withdrew its own appeal. The Court also recommended that Tayto respond once to the particular issues she had raised.
