The Labour Court has set aside a €4,538.80 award to Suman Bhurtel after allowing Chicken Castle Limited Chicken Club’s appeal. The Court signed its decision on 1 August 2025; Bhurtel’s cross-appeal failed. Bhurtel alleged he was not paid for annual leave he took in 2022 and sought payment for outstanding leave. The employer submitted that he was paid after the 2022 leave and had taken no leave in 2023 before leaving. The Court ruled the complaint was statute-barred, finding the reasons advanced did not justify extending the time limit.
