The Labour Court upheld a €1,000 award to Michelle Beagan after rejecting The Acorn Montessori Preschool’s appeal over unpaid annual leave. In its determination dated 8 March 2021, the Court found the preschool had breached the Organisation of Working Time Act by failing to pay outstanding holiday pay when Beagan’s employment ended. The preschool accepted that €366.29 was due and said it paid that sum after the hearing. The Court said the €1,000 award included the €366.29 holiday pay and was to be paid within six weeks.
