The Labour Court overturned an Adjudication Officer’s decision on Veronica Hallahan’s appeal and directed Niall O’Connor & Co., Solicitors to pay her €5,168.97 for 37 days of untaken annual leave. The determination was dated 29 January 2020. The officer had awarded Hallahan €2,069.92 for 17 days accrued between 31 March 2018 and her resignation on 4 February 2019, but found she was not entitled to payment for 20 untaken days from the 2017–2018 leave year. Hallahan appealed that decision, while the firm argued the officer had been correct. The Court found Hallahan was entitled to payment for both periods. The parties agreed that the 37 days’ pay amounted to €5,168.97, which the Court directed the firm to pay within four weeks.
